Commander’s Corner

Next Post meeting October 17 at 6:30

Well, the summer is over and now we set our sights on the fall season.

This of course is our busiest season of the year. We have a full schedule taking us through the holidays this year. The majority of our fundraising activities have been focused on the Circle of Flags project which has broken ground and will be completed for our November dedication ceremony.

We have so many exciting events planned this fall. Please do come out and share some good times with us. Thanks again to our members and friends who make it all happen for us.

VFW News

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – In support of the Campaign to Change Direction, Give an Hour (GAH) and the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States are partnering for the inaugural “A Day to Change Direction” on October 8, 2016. This will be a national day of service, honored by the VFW and GAH, to promote dialogue on mental health, emotional suffering, and access to care, while striving to change the culture of mental health in America in general, and for the veteran community in particular. VFW Posts and Auxiliaries across the country will participate in this day of service by hosting activities in their local communities and helping to create awareness of the Five Signs of emotional suffering.

Walgreen’s and the VA are partnering for Free Flu Shots for Veteran’s. If you are enrolled in VA health care, just bring your card to the local Walgreen’s for your Free Flu Shot.
